Mr. Patrick Chinguwo has joined the Faculty of Law as a legal clinic coordinator as of April 2017. He has already engaged with the clinic’s partners and is planning activities for the upcoming semester.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities Degree, both from the University of Malawi and a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from the African University in Zimbabwe.
Mr. Chinguwo brings his experience from the Legal Aid Bureau and State Advocate Chambers where he served as a Principal Legal Aid Advocate and Senior State Advocate, respectively.
He is passionate about creating visibility of all legal clinics in the Faculty, stating that “this entails effective community engagement in order to create impact through student-centred learning with support from the Faculty, whilst using the law as a tool for social justice to ensure that those who are on the margins of society are empowered.”
